Wait a minute…

Today was supposed to be another Wordless Wednesday post, but I’m sick. My son is bringing all of his pre-school projects and germs home to share, again. It is the third time in three months that he’s caught a cold. That means that this is the third time I’ve also caught his cold.

It’s very nerve-wracking when you’re trying to work, even if it is from home. Today, we also had a snow storm. There was no shot of doing anything except watching good movies, snuggling, cleaning Mr. H. B. Brew, medicating, and knitting.

I feel like that part of The Matrix, where Neo is roaming, and all the other people are passing him by at light speed. Their images are fuzzy at best. It’s like tunnel vision, but objects may appear faster than they really are. The oblivious nature of this cold condition really sucks because the congestion hasn’t begun.

Imagine waiting for a pizza delivery, only it’s cold, disgusting and the cook may have spit on it. That is what waiting for sinus congestion is like when you’re already showing visible signs of being sick (fever, airheaded). You know it’s coming, and it’s going to be gross.

People tell me that this is normal for the first year of pre-school. To which I reply, “What? You have got to be kidding me!” This is no way to lead a life. It’s not a wonder why children in the past were lucky to survive.

Well, here we are now surviving. I just wish this wasn’t hitting right around Christmas. My previous colds and sinus infections impact my hearing. For some reason, my ears just don’t drain adequately but seldom become infected. So, there is a great chance I won’t be hearing what people are saying during Christmas gatherings and feasts.

Yes, this is turning into more of a rant. It just goes to show how much I hate being sick. I don’t use the word hate lightly, but with snow and being sick… I use the word.

Snow has a purpose. I completely understand animals use it to burrow and keep warm. It is an insulator for pipes when the temperature is extremely low. I just really dislike snow and the cold. Unfortunately, I didn’t choose the Midwestern life, it chose me.

Anyways, I’ll be posting more Wordless Wednesdays in the future, but probably not until the new year as this sickness runs its course.

Have a happy holiday season!

Blogging Calendar

Hi, readers!

I have some new knitting and illustration content coming in the next couple of months. My goal is to post three times per week by the end of 2018. Scheduling unique content without burnout is essential, so I’m starting out small.

Every other Wednesday will feature WIP Wednesdays where I post progress photos of my current projects. I love seeing WIP photos and hearing about new projects.

On those other Wednesdays, I’ll share photos based on a theme without additional text. This is my version of Wordless Wednesdays.

On Fridays, I’ll talk about finished projects. Typically, I post about pattern releases on the first Friday of the month.

If you’d like to share your projects, I’ll provide a Mister Linky list widget for all Wednesday and Friday posts.

Each month, starting in January, I’ll have a downloadable monthly desktop wallpaper. As time goes on, I’ll offer mobile wallpapers as well.

Other content to look forward to:

  • Resource page
    • including resource/product reviews
  • Knitwear design process posts
  • A Facebook page
  • 2018 Christmas Cards

Thanks for sticking with me!
